After Years Denouncing 'Excessive' Wealth, Obamas Buying $15 Million Martha's Vineyard Estate

Share

Looks like he’s at that point where he’s made enough money.

Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, is on his way to becoming a major landowner on the exclusive island of Martha’s Vineyard, TMZ reported Thursday.

And all for less than $15 million!

The last Democratic president, famous for socialistic declarations like, “I do think, at some point you’ve made enough money,” has put money in escrow to purchase an estate of almost 30 beachfront acres on the playground of the rich and influential off the coast of Massachusetts, according to TMZ.

The property, currently owned by Boston Celtics owner (is that the right word now?) Wyc Grousbeck, lists for $14,850,000, according to TMZ, though sources told the celebrity website that the Obamas aren’t paying that much.

But whatever the price really is, it’s a buy fit for a king.

“The estate — incredible. It’s 29 beachfront acres. The main residence is just shy of 6,900 square feet. It has 7 bedrooms, so Sasha and Malia have a place to crash, along with several of their friends,” TMZ reported.

“It has the obligatory pool, an outdoor fireplace, a chef’s kitchen, vaulted ceilings and 2 guest wings. It has incredible views, especially while soaking in the second-floor balcony Jacuzzi.”

Not bad at all for a former community organizer who spent his political career flailing at the wealthy, and insulting those trying to earn their way to wealth by proclaiming they “didn’t build” their own businesses.

Are most Democrats hypocrites when it comes to wealth?

In fact, someone might get the impression that the Obama is pretty fond of the high life.

A guy who spent eight years more or less telling Americans that their country’s best years are in the past, and presiding over a chronically lousy economy, is clearly looking forward to pretty comfortable future for himself and his bride.

It might not come as a surprise, though, that word of the Obamas’ plans to live among the “one percent” that were so vilified during his administration didn’t go over well on social media at all.

That last one nailed it.

Americans can despise incompetence in a leader, but at least it’s forgivable.

Hypocrisy is not. And it was always one of the Obamas’ most undeniable characteristic — whether it was preaching about gun control while being surrounded by armed guards or accusing their fellow Americans of racism while fanning the flames of racial hatred themselves (“if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”), Barack and Michelle Obama spent two terms in the White House putting down their countrymen to raise themselves up.

The only thing more shameful than Obama’s maladministration was the mainstream media’s disgraceful, relentless cheerleading for it.

And now, a plush property beckons on Martha’s Vineyard.

He’s made enough money all right. And the rest of the country is still paying for it.
