Watch: Dismal Super Bowl Gets Brief Spark from Astonishing Record-Breaking Punt

Share

Well… this is different.

After some high-scoring playoff games this year and some high-scoring Super Bowls in recent years, Super Bowl LIII has turned into quite the defensive struggle.

Or is it just struggle?

For some fans, Super Bowl LIII has been a callback to the glory days of NFL defense.

For most fans, Super Bowl LIII has been an utter snore with the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams tied at 3-3 deep in the third quarter.

If you need any proof that this Super Bowl has been a bore, look no further than what many people feel like is the most exciting play of the game.

In and of itself, it’s kind of cool that Rams punter Johnny Hekker now has the record for longest punt in Super Bowl history when he blasted a 65-yard punt.

It’s a neat little bit of trivia.

It should not be the most exciting play of the NFL’s premiere game.
