Watch: Cowboys Star Ezekiel Elliot Handcuffed After Altercation
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott probably just put himself back on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s radar.
Elliott, whom Goodell suspended for six games in 2017 over a domestic violence incident that resulted in no charges, was put in handcuffs Saturday morning after leaning into a security guard and then throwing a forearm that knocked the guard into a metal gate at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, TMZ Sports reported Monday.
Vegas police officers detained Elliott after the incident but let him go without charges.
“Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation,” lawyer Frank Salzano told TMZ. “He was cuffed as a precautionary measure. He was released with no charges. He left Vegas that night and went to his [youth football camp in Dallas] on Sunday.”
Before the confrontation with the guard, Elliott got into an argument with a woman identified as his girlfriend, repeatedly using his body to block her path. That got the attention of event security.

Goodell now has to decide if anything Elliott did merits punishment under the league’s personal conduct policy.
Working against Elliott is that in the eyes of the league, he is a repeat offender.
In addition to the domestic violence allegations, he has faced scrutiny for pulling down a woman’s top at a 2016 St. Patrick’s Day parade and being involved in a confrontation at a Dallas bar in 2017.
A day after the Las Vegas incident, Elliott appeared on KTVT-TV in Dallas to talk about how he has matured off the field in connection with the previously mentioned youth football camp.
“Just kind of growing up,” he said Sunday. “I came into this league real young and had a lot to learn. I got those boo-boos, I messed up a couple of times and I learned from my mistakes. It made me a better person.”
Elliott was focused on football during that interview, as he also spoke to the Cowboys’ potential success in the upcoming season.
“I think we have a lot of the right pieces,” he said. “I think we’re loaded at every position. We have a lot of depth and we have a great group of leaders and some great team chemistry going on. We just have to lay that foundation now and carry it through camp and make it happen during the season.”
That foundation could be severely undermined if Goodell suspends Elliott once again.
