Who Is Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Tim Tebow's New Fiancee?
As you’ve probably heard by now, Tim Tebow officially has a fiancee.
Obviously, it’s good news for the former Heisman Trophy winner and current professional baseball player.
But his engagement also has been warmly received by Tebow’s legions of fans. They’re happy to see someone they admire find the love of his life.
Amid all of the joy, however, has been a rising curiosity about Tebow’s fiancee, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. As well-known as Tebow is, between his sports career and his endless charity efforts, not nearly as much is known about Nel-Peters.

Fast Fact #1: She Is a Devout Christian
This is easily the most important fact and one that undoubtedly means a whole lot for what Tebow would want in a fiancee.
Nel-Peters clearly wears her faith on her sleeve, not unlike the man she is marrying. A quick glance at her New Year’s Eve Instagram post sheds some light on it.
“‘First and foremost all the glory goes to my Heavenly Father and savior, Jesus Christ. In Jeremiah 29:11 He makes this promise: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ I had a dream of becoming an influential young woman in my country, but His dream for me was so much bigger. I am forever grateful for (all) the experiences He has blessed me with in my life,” Nel-Peters wrote.
Fast Fact #2: She Met Tebow at a Charity Event
They met at a wonderful charity event run by the Tim Tebow Foundation, to be specific.
“I don’t know if you know, but I have a half-sister who was born with a disability, and his foundation works very closely with children with disabilities,” Nel-Peters said in an interview over the summer. “They have an event each year called ‘Night To Shine‘ and they host them each year in churches in different countries, and he invited me and my family. We started talking and we kinda haven’t stopped.”
It’s hard to imagine a more fitting beginning to their relationship than that.
Fast Fact #3: She Was the First South African Miss Universe Winner in 30 Years
Before Nel-Peters became Tim Tebow’s fiancee, she was known for winning Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2017.
According to People, Nel-Peters’ first visit to America was for the 2017 Miss Universe pageant, which was held in Las Vegas.
People also noted that Nel-Peters was the first South African Miss Universe winner since Margaret Gardiner claimed the title in 1978.

Fast Fact #5: She Speaks 2 Languages and Has a Business Degree
Leave it to Tim Tebow to find a fiancee who has brains in addition to her other attributes.
According to Nel-Peters’ Miss Universe biography page, she earned her degree in Business Management from North West University in South Africa.
On top of that, she speaks both English and Afrikaans.
Fast Fact #6: Don’t Mess with Her, She Knows How To Defend Herself
According to another Miss Universe page, Tim Tebow’s fiancee is not one to be trifled with.
Nel-Peters was the target of carjackers in 2017. She was able to escape after she punched one of the attackers in the throat, according to News24.
After that, Nel-Peters began her “Unbreakable” campaign, through which she “partners with self-defense experts and other educators who train women how to handle life-threatening situations, including sexual harassment, assault, and abusive relationships.”
Fast Fact #7: She Is ‘Internally Flawless’
At least that’s how Tebow describes his new fiancee.
“This ring is internally flawless,” Tebow told her when proposing, per People. “Just like you.”
Tebow then surprised her by having Matthew Mole, a South African singer, serenade the newly engaged couple with “The Wedding Song,” which is one of their favorites.
