Watch: Peaceful Pro-Lifer Hit & Shoved, Then Gets Blamed for Causing the Disturbance
As the national debate over abortion continues to heat up while various states work to either expand or restrict the dubious “right” to murder unborn babies, tempers are flaring among some demonstrators and it sadly appears that it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt, if not worse.
A pro-life advocate was assaulted and surrounded and berated by a loud and angry crowd of abortion supporters in Jackson, Mississippi, on May 21, according to The Associated Press.
The abortion supporters were taking part in a pro-abortion rally outside the state Capitol that followed an earlier hearing in federal court by District Judge Carlton Reeves to consider arguments for and against an anti-abortion law in Mississippi that would prohibit most abortions once a fetal heartbeat was detected. The judge ultimately decided to block the law from being implemented.
It was as that rally was occurring that the lone pro-life advocate — who was standing well away from the main crowd — raised his voice to speak his piece and plead for “mercy” for the innocent unborn children.
That pro-life man, identified by the AP as activist Coleman Boyd, was quickly descended upon by a group of abortion supporters that broke away from the main crowd. One of the first abortion supporters to reach Boyd used a cane as a weapon to hit him.
Others soon began to approach Boyd and raised their own voices with shouts and yells and curses to try and drown out his repeated plea: “I beg you, please, have mercy on these babies.”
One of those abortion supporters gave Boyd a solid, violent shove. Other pro-choice protesters soon joined the fray — as well as members of the media with cameras and microphones — and Boyd was eventually completely surrounded.
The shouting and yelling and cursing continued on for a moment — one particularly annoying protester continuously and repeatedly yelled “F*** off jacka**” — until eventually, Boyd seemed to have had enough of attempting to make his case, and carefully began to extricate himself from the tense situation and walk away.
Ironically, it was the angry and loud and violent abortion supporters who ludicrously accused Boyd of causing the disturbance — an obvious lie since it was clear the pro-abortion side walked over to confront him, not the other way around.
Boyd walked directly to a nearby police officer to inform him of the assault that had just occurred, but the officer literally just waved him away and ignored what he had to say.
The pro-life Christian man was then surrounded by reporters with their cameras and microphones, and while he initially declined to comment and attempted to walk away, the journalists kept pace and continued to ask their questions.
Boyd eventually relented and spoke briefly with the reporters, and while his complete and exact words were difficult to pick up among all of the background noise, his over-arching message came through perfectly clear — it is not right for our society to condone the wanton murder of innocent children still in the womb.
You can watch the entire incident unfold right here. (Caution: Some explicit language.)
This Christian pro-life man was doing nothing more than peacefully expressing his right to free speech by openly stating his opinion on the topic of abortion, and for that, he was assaulted and surrounded and intimidated and shouted down by angry and loud abortion supporters.
This incident could have easily gotten out of hand and resulted in one or more individuals being injured in a physical scrum, but thankfully, that didn’t occur this time.
Injuries have occurred with other pro-life protesters who’ve been accosted and assaulted by pro-abortion supporters, and more will inevitably occur — if not worse — so long as this nation remains gripped in an increasingly vitriolic debate over the “right” to kill an unborn baby for the sake of convenience.
