Watch: Montage of Establishment Media Hacks as They Realize There's No Blue Wave

Share

After months of talking up an ominous “blue wave” that was supposed to take both chambers of Congress by storm, liberal media figures had to finally admit they were wrong as election results rolled in Tuesday night.

For months, the most vocal of left-wing hacks had hyped a Democratic landslide, while Democratic politicians pleaded with young voters, minorities, women and other supposedly sympathetic groups to turn out at the polls.

Tuesday night was supposed to be the big night for Democrats, but Republicans kept their majority in the Senate and Democrats only won a slight majority in the House of Representatives.

While Democrats can be happy with even a small majority in the House, the “blue wave” never arrived.

In a video released by the Republican Party on Twitter, you can see the hilarious before-and-after coverage of the “blue wave.”

“There’s an enormous, tsunami-like blue wave coming,” CNN political commentator Dave Jacobson said before the election.

“Democrats are banking on a blue wave,” CNN host Don Lemon said.

When the results began rolling in, Democrats admitted that the blue wave hit a red wall. (At least none of them cried this time.)

“There was some hope that Democrats would have a wave election, it’s not going to be a wave election,” Democratic strategist James Carville said.

Will this teach the media lesson about their liberal expectations?

“It’s a red wave on the Senate side at least,” NBC’s Savannah Guthrie said.

Even CNN’s Jake Tapper admitted that there wasn’t a blue wave.

“This is not a blue wave,” Tapper said. “Democrats did hope for a big, blue win. That is not happening.”

Speaking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Tapper also pointed out that Republicans who opposed President Donald Trump were the ones who were losing.

“A lot of the Republicans who were critics of President Trump… they are being defeated.” Tapper said.

Democrats, of course, would have preferred if Republicans who supported Trump were also defeated, which would have helped their “referendum on Trump” narrative as well as their “blue wave” narrative.

But that’s not the country we’re living in.

There’s nothing more satisfying than watching establishment media hacks admit they were wrong. They don’t admit it often enough, but sometimes reality is too obvious to avoid, even for liberals.
