Watch: LSU Coach Interrupts News Conference Twice To Scream at Players

Share

Every Ed Orgeron news conference is a worth a listen just for the sound of the gravel-voiced LSU football coach.

But Wednesday’s news conference went viral thanks to Coach O stopping twice to yell at some people for interrupting his speech.

Orgeron was talking about LSU after the first day of the NCAA’s early signing period when the noise behind him made him leave the podium to remind those creating the noise that he was holding court.

“Hold on a second,” told the assembled reporters before walking off. “Hey guys! Hey, I’m having a press conference, OK?” Orgeron bellowed. “Thank you.”

He then returned to his post to talk about the Tigers’ recruits — but he was interrupted again.

“Hey! Stop the ball. Stop the drill. I’m having a press conference. Thank you,” Orgeron said before again walking back to the podium and picking up right where he left off with his comments.

His ability to not miss a beat with his speech left many impressed, including a woman whose job it is to train people in the media.

The excitement in the background was from what appeared to be some players going through a drill, but the excitement might as well have come from the success that LSU had on Wednesday.

The Tigers signed 15 players, including two five-star recruits and six four-star recruits. The top-rated player they added is Derek Stingley Jr., the No. 1 defensive back in the country.

Stingley is a local product who signed with LSU in the morning and then returned to school to participate in a school play later that day.

Will LSU end UCF's 25-game winning streak in the Fiesta Bowl?

The other big player they landed was John Emery, who is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 2 running back in the country.

With Stingley, Emery and the rest of the early signees, LSU has the No. 4 ranked incoming class, according to 247 Sports.

As for Orgeron’s current Tigers team, LSU will square off with UCF in the Fiesta Bowl and attempt to end the Knights’ 25-game winning streak.
