Watch Elderly Woman's Spontaneous Duet with Street Performer to 'What A Wonderful World'

Share

You’re never too old to live your dreams. Sometimes all it takes is a little bravery and a ton of heart to bring a crowd to tears.

Street performers can be so much fun to watch. They bring a special kind of ambiance to an otherwise dull atmosphere.

Truro, Cornwall, is a must-see stop for anyone planning a visit to the United Kingdom. From its iconic cathedral to its lovely Victoria Gardens, the city of Truro has much to offer anyone seeking a photo-op destination.

Throughout the year, visitors can travel back in time as they wander the streets of Truro. Visit Cornwall boasts of the city’s “yearlong festival programme, weekly food markets and several art galleries, cultural events and historical attractions.”

According to Cornwall Live, buskers — a.k.a. street performers — are quite common in this city. These live performances only add to Truro’s unique flavor and charm.

Take busker Andy “The Crooner” Marshall, for example. He may be in his mid-50s, but age hasn’t stopped the wedding singer from taking his act to the streets.

“I’ve produced two albums since I started,” Marshall told Cornwall Live. When you hear the man sing, it’s easy to see why he’s so popular.

But the recent attention Marshall received was not due to his solo act. Instead, it’s his unexpected duet partner who is going viral.

Eighty-eight-year-old Enid Bellamy was walking through Truro when she stopped at Marshall’s performance.

The pensioner couldn’t help herself. She joined Marshall in singing Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” — a performance that reportedly moved the crowd to tears.

Watch as this lovely woman belts her sweet heart out. If I had been present for the live show, I have a feeling I would have cried too.

The original footage was captured by Truro native, Mia Fannin. “We came across the same man that busks in town every once a week, but today the cutest loveliest little old lady wanted to join in!” Fannin wrote on Facebook. “This video just goes to show that even our elders are still young at heart and I love that!”

According to Metro News, this isn’t the first time Enid has accompanied Marshall, either. “‘She loves singing, she used to sing when she was young. It makes her really happy,” Marshall said.

What a sweet pair! If you’re ever in Truro, Cornwall, be sure to keep an eye out for these two. You never know when they might perform together again.
