Warren Visibly Flustered After Audience Member Corners Her on Infanticide Position

Share

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren was confronted Wednesday at a campaign event in Dubuque, Iowa, over her decision to vote against a bill that would protect babies from infanticide.

At the campaign event, Warren stressed the importance of healthcare for all, including babies.

But a crowd member reminded Warren that she voted against protection for babies who survived abortion attempts.

“What about the babies that survive abortion?” someone from the crowd asked. “How come they can’t have healthcare?”

Warren, visibly frustrated, only uttered, “Infanticide is illegal everywhere in America.”

“You voted against it,” the man reminded her.

Warren couldn’t come up with a response — she only repeated herself. “Infanticide is illegal everywhere in America.”

The bill in question was the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, introduced by Republican Sen. Ben Sasse.

Are you satisfied with Warren's response?

Warren, along with 43 other Democrats, voted against the bill on Monday, making Republicans short of the 60 votes needed to proceed.

The presidential candidate even boasted about her vote on Twitter.

“Republican politicians just tried (and failed) again to score political points at the expense of women. Enough. Women and their doctors should decide what’s best for their health — not the @SenateGOP,” Warren tweeted.

The bill asserted that “any infant born alive after an abortion … has the same claim to the protection of the law that would arise for any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.”

In other words, the bill would protect babies who are born after a failed abortion by requiring hospitals and clinics to treat the baby as any other newborn, providing them with the care they need.

The bill was important because infanticide is becoming a real threat as Democrats begin to consider “aborting” babies after they are born.

The bill was introduced last month after Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam suggested that babies already born could be “aborted” if state Democrats passed a bill that would legalize late-term abortions.

It’s also important to note that support for late-term abortion is becoming commonplace in the Democratic Party, with states like Vermont and New York recently legalizing the barbaric practice.

Warren is in denial about the reality of infanticide in the United States.
