Very Real Moment Between Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Caught End of Carriage Ride As Reality Kicked In

Share

After months of preparation, 36-year-old Meghan Markle has wed her prince at last. The American actress is now a British royal!

Prince Harry and Markle, now officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, married on May 19 in stunning style. After a lovely marriage ceremony, the Duke and Duchess settled into a horse-drawn carriage for a fairytale ride.

The Ascot Landau carriage took the Duke and Duchess on a 2.6-mile long ride, where the couple waved excitedly to droves of public onlookers.

The carriage entourage rode through the town of Windsor and down the Long Walk on a picture-perfect day.

The parade was a sight to behold, with British guards, flags, and decorations lining the road. Flocks of fans cheered as a smiling Prince Harry and Markle waved as they rode by.

Markle had elegantly made her way through the day with poise, smiles, and the grace of royalty. But as the carriage ride concluded, it seemed reality kicked in for the freshly-minted Duchess.

Did you enjoy the Royal Wedding?

As the carriage returned to the gates of Windsor Castle, Markle became adorably overwhelmed with joy.

Clutching her chest, the Duchess looked up at her prince and let out a breathless, “oh my gosh!”

“That was a real moment,” commented Entertainment Online’s Kevin Frazier. “Just to say ‘oh my gosh’ — that was the kind of moment you kind of wait for to see her reacting and kind of taking in that moment.”

Markle certainly had a lot to take in on her jam-packed day, and to see her outwardly express such joyful emotion was a highlight of the carriage ride for many fans. For the gorgeous bride, the reality of her new life seemed to sink a little deeper.

Prior to the carriage ride, Markle was escorted down the aisle by Prince Charles at Windsor Castle. She looked stunning in a simple but very elegant Givenchy dress, paired with a gorgeous veil and Queen Mary’s tiara.

Prince Harry wore the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals, along with his brother and best man, Prince William. In adorable royal fashion, young Prince George and Princess Charlotte dazzled as part of the wedding ceremony.

The royal wedding day continued for the Duke and Duchess with a luncheon, private sit-down dinner and evening reception. What a day to remember for royal fans everywhere.
