US Border Patrol Reports 300% Increase Of Border Violence, Illegal Immigrants Assaulting Agents

Share

The U.S. Border Patrol reports that assaults against its agents have spiked, but Democrats still think we don’t need a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

San Diego Border Sector Chief Rodney Scott told KGTV-TV that assaults against border agents are three times higher than they were at this time last year.

The most recent surge of violence on the southern border happened on New Year’s Eve.

Roughly 150 illegal immigrants attempted to climb the border fence in San Diego, the report said, and more than a dozen were apprehended by agents.

The migrants weren’t apprehended without a fight — they began hurling rocks at Border Patrol agents.

Agents say violent scenes like the one on New Year’s Eve have been a more common occurrence since the migrant caravan arrived from Central America late last year.

“These incursions are organized,” Border Patrol agent Joshua Wilson told KGTV. “They are bringing people down there for the express purpose of provoking a confrontation.”

Wilson said a border wall would keep agents safe from violence.

“Having that barrier helps prevent many assaults on agents, and that’s something the public really needs to understand,” he said. “It’s not just a border security measure. It’s a measure for agents safety as well.”

Do you think we need a border wall?

This is a sentiment shared by President Donald Trump, who has been asking Congress to fund a border wall.

“The Democrats, much as I suspected, have allocated no money for a new Wall. So imaginative!” Trump tweeted Tuesday. “The problem is, without a Wall there can be no real Border Security – and our Country must finally have a Strong and Secure Southern Border!”

Unfortunately, Democrats don’t seem to think a wall is necessary despite the risk of violence faced by border patrol agents.

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doubled down in her opposition to the wall, which has prompted the current government shutdown.

“The fact is a wall is an immorality. It’s not who we are as a nation,” Pelosi said.

But the real “immorality” is coming from violent illegal immigrants who throw rocks at Border Patrol agents.

It’s also an “immorality” for Democrats like Pelosi to let the violence on the border continue instead of funding a wall.

Pelosi has completely missed the point of a border wall.

We need the wall to keep Americans safe from potentially violent illegal immigrants, especially as attacks on Border Patrol agents are surging.
