Trump Digs Up Obama, Hillary Dirt: Uses It To Bury Leftist Opposition to Border Wall
President Donald Trump has endured heavy and sustained fire from the left — particularly from elected Democrats and their liberal media allies — for his tough stance in favor of improving border security for the United States of America.
His calls for significantly reducing illegal immigration and other reforms to legal immigration laws have been smeared as bigoted and racist and Islamaphobic, among other sharply applied -ists and -isms.
So, too, with his demands for a wall or barrier on the border where necessary, which have been duplicitously denounced by Democrats as being both worthless and ineffective at stopping cross-border traffic, as well as being “immoral” for working too well at stopping innocent asylum seekers and refugees from entering the country … a rather odd contrast where both descriptions counteract each other.
The thing is, though, that virtually all of the Democrats who have harshly criticized Trump for his strong positions against illegal immigration and in favor of border security were once calling for the exact same things as recently as five to 15 years ago.
And the president has hilariously shared that with Americans through his Twitter account.
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked…” Barrack Obama, 2005. I voted, when I was a Senator, to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in…” Hillary Clinton, 2015.

Trump tweeted two old quotes from prominent Democrats on Sunday.
The first quote came from former President Barack Obama, followed by failed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. They read:
“‘We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked…’ Barrack Obama, 2005.
“‘I voted, when I was a Senator, to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in…’ Hillary Clinton, 2015.”
He followed that up with a tweet that stated, “….The only reason they do not want to build a Wall is that Walls Work! 99% of our illegal Border crossings will end, crime in our Country will go way down and we will save billions of dollars a year! A properly planned and constructed Wall will pay for itself many times a year!”

Nor is this the first time that Trump has taken to social media to use the prior words of prominent Democrats to highlight the stark difference between their previous positions and where they stand now, in opposition to him.
On Dec. 27, Trump retweeted a tweet from Obama in 2011, which came from Obama’s State of the Union address, and said, “I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration. #SOTU”
I totally agree! https://t.co/KO8E3bfWfn

On Dec. 24, he tweeted, “Virtually every Democrat we are dealing with today strongly supported a Border Wall or Fence. It was only when I made it an important part of my campaign, because people and drugs were pouring into our Country unchecked, that they turned against it. Desperately needed!”

Trump had also, in the past, shared a video clip of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer speaking adamantly against illegal immigration and strongly in favor of border walls, a complete reversal of the senator’s current position of #Resistance.
As has been made quite clear, most Democrats were in favor of strong border security measures designed to stop illegal immigration and the influx of drugs and criminals across the southern border, that is, until Trump began to loudly support such things, at which point everything hypocritically changed.
So, here we are now … hypocritical Democrats standing staunchly averse to policies they promoted just a few short years ago.
