Trump Asks Brutal Question in Response to Cali Wanting Universal Health Care for Illegals

Share

President Donald Trump’s latest response to Gavin Newsom’s universal health care proposal brings to mind all of the Never Trumpers who complained he wasn’t a conservative. I don’t know if the president hits the high conservative credential mark on everything, but he has certainly rung the bell on this one.

In this day and age of progressive bombardment in the culture, it is certainly refreshing to have someone in the Oval Office who asks pertinent questions about the liberal rhetoric.

As Gavin Newsom heads out on the California Governor’s race campaign trial, he leaves a myriad of progressive policy proposals in his wake, not the least of which is universal health care for all — including illegal aliens and with a disregard of pre-existing conditions.

Breitbart reported on Newsom’s committed response to universal health care.

“It needs to be pulled into the governor’s office. The executive needs to lead it. Obamacare would not have happened if it was just exclusively a legislative fiat — that said — and Nancy Pelosi did a magical job of organizing it, but it required the concerted contributions of the president of the United States.”

“The only way in a state whose population that is larger than 163 nations — California — whose economy is larger than all of four nations — fifth largest economy — to approximate a strategy for universal health care with the support and concurrence of the governor.”

“I did universal health care when I was Mayor. Fully implemented, regardless of pre-existing conditions, ability to pay, and regardless of your immigration status. San Franciso is the only universal health care plan for all undocumented residents in America. Very proud of that. We proved it could be done without bankrupting the city. I’d like to see that extended to the rest of the state.”

Clearly he wants to speak to his dependent liberal base. And that might have been effective if the president hadn’t offered this very common sense question: “What happens if the whole world decides to go to California?”

At a North Carolina event on Friday the president clearly outlined Newsom’s liberal agenda while also pointing out it lacks logistical answers for actually carrying out his plan.

Should California adopt universal healthcare?

“Trump said Newsom wants “health care for everyone. He wants everything for everyone. He wants to open up the borders. He wants to take care of everyone,” another Breitbart report said.

“Where do you stop? You’re going to take care of a lot of people, but they’re not going to be able to do it for very long because it’s not going to work.”

Apparently Newsom thinks hitting the president hard on the campaign trial is a winning strategy for him in California because he makes no bones about going against the president and his policies.

Forbes is reporting that Newsom has a 24 point lead in the polls and is already projecting him to be the next governor — that is unless California falls into the sea before the election.

However, we are all still waiting to see how Newsom plans to pay for his universal health care promises.

Be careful what you ask for, Newsom. You may just be in a position to have to actually pay for all that free stuff. If you’re expecting to go to the federal government for that kind of money you may not have the support there you were looking for.
