Trump Brilliantly Mocks Chris Cuomo's Unhinged 'Fredo' Rant: 'He's Nuts!'
President Donald Trump chimed in with a brilliant response Tuesday morning to a viral video showing CNN anchor Chris Cuomo lose his cool after a man called him “Fredo.”
As Fox News noted, the video in question was posted to YouTube then widely circulated across Twitter by Daily Wire reporter Ryan Saavedra.
“I thought that was who you were,” the man in the video tells Cuomo.
“No, punk-a– b—–s from the right call me ‘Fredo.’ My name is Chris Cuomo. I’m an anchor on CNN,” Cuomo replied.
“‘Fredo’ was from ‘The Godfather.’ He was a weak brother and they use that as an Italian slur — are any of you Italian?” he asked. “It’s a f—ing insult to your people. It’s an insult to your f—ing people. It’s like the n-word for us. Is that a cool f—ing thing?”
The man then told him: “You’re a much more reasonable guy in person than you seem to be on television.”
“If you want to play, we’ll f—ing play,” the host of “Cuomo Prime Time” responded.
“If you’ve got something to say about what I do on television, then say it, but you don’t have to call me a f—ing insult,” Cumo said.
“Hey man, listen, I don’t want any problems,” the man told him.
The two continued to exchange words. Eventually, Cuomo appeared to physically threaten him.
“I’ll f—ing ruin your s—,” Cuomo said. “I’ll f—ing throw you down these stairs like a f—ing punk.”
The man said, “Please do.”
Then Cuomo replied: “So you can f—ing sue?”
“Then take a swing at me,” he said. “You wanna call me ‘Fredo,’ take a f—ing swing. … I’m f—ing right here. I’ll f—ing wreck your s—.”
WARNING: The following tweet and video contains profane language that some viewers may find disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.
All told, it wasn’t a great look for a man who hosts a nationally televised show during prime time, albeit on a network that most people with brains realize is nothing more than a platform for anti-Donald Trump propaganda.
Speaking of Trump, the president chimed on the controversy with a pair of brilliant tweets Tuesday morning.
“I thought Chris was Fredo also,” Trump tweeted, referring to the character from “The Godfather” series who’s largely seen as a disappointment to his family and a pushover.
“The truth hurts. Totally lost it! Low ratings @CNN,” Trump added.

And Trump wasn’t done. In a followup post, he questioned whether Cuomo would be given a “Red Flag for his recent rant” and be prohibited from obtaining a firearm.
“Filthy language and a total loss of control. He shouldn’t be allowed to have any weapon. He’s nuts!” Trump added.

Now, I have no idea whether or not Cuomo is really nuts. Perhaps he was just having a bad day, or, as Fox News host Sean Hannity suggested, maybe he was just upset at being confronted while out with his family.
I say good for @ChrisCuomo
He’s out with his 9 year old daughter, and his wife, and this guy is being a jackass in front of his family.
Imho Chris Cuomo has zero to apologize for. He deserves the apology. https://t.co/VnyMNgz14U

But one thing is clear — Cuomo absolutely lost it and went on an unhinged rant. Mocking him for it, at least in my opinion, is fair game.
