Trump Blasts 'AOC Plus 3' at DC Summit for Young Conservatives

Share

If the four congresswomen known as “the squad” thought for a fleeting moment President Donald Trump would mince words and back down, they were mistaken, as usual.

Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — whom Trump refers to as “AOC Plus 3” — were his latest target during a speech Tuesday at the Turning Point USA Teen Action Summit in Washington, D.C.

The commander in chief didn’t bury the lede, starting his address by saying, “We have a deep state, we have bad people.”

From that point, Trump became more specific, hitting back at 75% of the controversial congressional foursome.

On Ocasio-Cortez: “She’s no bargain.”

On Tlaib: “There’s no way she stands for the values of the people of Michigan.”

And he didn’t forget Omar: “You know why I’m gonna win [Minnesota]? Because of her.”

Do you agree with President Trump's comments?

Three strikes, they’re out. If those pushy progressives — who evidently think there’s no such thing as overacting — plan to continue exchanging jabs with the president, they’d better have stamina.

Trump’s antagonists could argue that criticizing others is no way for a president to behave in front of teenagers. I would assert, conversely, the commander in chief’s address to those young conservatives was a masterclass in leadership, exuding confidence and how to stand up for one’s values.

Following his speech Tuesday, Trump continued criticizing the quartet of freshmen via Twitter — referring to them as a “Nightmare for America!”

What’s more, with each critique from “AOC Plus 3,” Trump appears to gain more confidence. As he recently tweeted, “In 2020, because of America hating anti-Semite Rep. Omar, & the fact that Minnesota is having its best economic year ever, I will win the State!”

It is no secret that Trump’s modus operandi, when he’s attacked via social media and verbally, is to punch back harder. As long as “the squad” keeps sparring with the president, his gloves are off for good.
