The incident comes less than a week after the disastrous collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland.

The bodies of two men who were presumed dead were found by search and rescue teams a day after the bridge came down.

"There's a ship approaching that just lost their steering. So until they get that under control we gotta stop all traffic," the officer said.
