Shan'ann Watts & Her Children Laid To Rest by Family During Emotional Funeral
On Saturday, a funeral was held for Shan’ann Watts, Bella, Celeste, and Nico in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Family and friends were in attendance, and many more attended in-person or followed along online as an act of tribute and respect to the woman they never met in person, but have developed a deep affinity for. Shan’ann’s husband and the children’s father has been charged with their murders.
Shan’ann’s story is a heartbreaking one, and it’s simply tragic that she, her daughters and her unborn son were ushered from this world so soon. They were remembered as loving individuals who left an indelible mark on those around them.
The three caskets were brought in and everyone sang “Amazing Grace.” Father John Forbes of Sacred Heart Catholic Church spoke for many as he described the faithful mother.
“Shan’ann was a woman of love,” he said. “She loved God, her family and her friends. She was a woman of determination.”
“She had dreams to be fulfilled, and she worked towards to those dreams. She wanted to make a difference. She wanted to be an exceptional wife and mother.”
“I have so much to say, but I will make it short,” Shan’ann’s father said. “Daddy loves you. You are a wonderful daughter and a great mother. You are nothing but pure love, always caring for everyone. You will always be Daddy’s Little Girl. Until we meet again, I love you with all my heart, see you later. Love you, Dad. Butterfly kisses.”
“Dear Bella and Celeste and Nico, You will always be pop pop’s little girls and precious grandson,” he continued. “You make my day filled with smiles, even when I feel bad or sad.”
“Bella, you will always be my ‘silver bells’ Celeste, pop pop will take care of your truck. Throwing kisses and hugs to all of you. See you later, Love you always, your Pop Pop.”
“Bella Marie and Celeste Catherine were light for all those around them,” Father Forbes confirmed. “They were filled with life and joy, and they shared those with all those they encountered.”
“Shan’ann, Bella Marie, Celeste Catherine, and Nico Lee, Mom/Nona loves you with all of my soul,” Shan’ann’s mother, Sandra, said. “May god bless all of you always, love Mommy/Nona.”
The family is asking for “justice and light” rather than “vengeance,” according to People. They would also like to make a law that would recognize the value and lives of unborn children — like Nico’s — in this kind of circumstance.
“Thank you heavenly father,” Sandra’s statement read. “I know our family is with you in paradise; I can’t thank you enough.”
“Please give every soul on earth who has prayed, cried or reached out to us only your precious blessings. I can only pray to you that this tragedy changes everyone’s soul to be close to you. Please continue to hold us all in your love and protection.”
