She Sees What Boyfriend’s Shirt Says After Record-Breaking Jurassic Park Ride
Records were made to be broken — or at least that’s the approach Devin and Chelsea took in regard to the Jurassic Park ride. The former titleholder had completed 60 rounds on the legendary ride, which seems miraculous given the fact that most people spend at least that many minutes waiting in line.
But Devin had planned more than just record setting. He wanted to ask Chelsea something even more important.
Filming the event was a great cover because it didn’t raise any flags. The video starts with the two of them clutching each other.
“I see it! We can make it!” says Chelsea with faux desperation.
“No, we can’t,” retorts Devin.
“Why?!”
“We’re being… hunted. Run!” The two run under the Jurassic Park ride sign as a T-rex shuffles after them.
“Sixty is the current record, so ideally we’ll make at least 61 rides today, but our goal is to crush it,” Chelsea said in her pre-ride interview.
Devin had a different message. “And what Chelsea doesn’t know,” he said, “as soon as we break the record today, I’m going to pop the question and ask Chelsea to marry me.”
At first, they were the only ones on the ride. Eventually, they were joined by other Universal Studios patrons and even a ride guide. At one point, kazoos were taken out and the entire boat hummed the theme song.
By the time they made it to round 61, it was dark and they were the only ones on the ride again. As they got off the ride and went to look at the photos, they were greeted by a group of workers clapping and cheering.
“Yeeeah!” Chelsea yelled when she first saw the photo, throwing a double-thumbs-up, but she quickly transitioned into “whoa, shut up!” as she looked at Devin.
Devin had unbuttoned his jacket to reveal the message on his shirt: Chelsea will you marry me?
He made the proposal official before getting down on one knee. “They say that marriage is a lot like a walk in the park,” he told her, “but only if that park is Jurassic Park.”
Then he pulled out a Barbasol can, and Chelsea lost it, laughing and crying and placing her hand over her heart as she realized what he was doing and how true-to-form he was doing it.
“You did not!” she said, laughing. But there, in the opened Barbasol can, was a ring featuring an insect trapped in amber.
Of course, she said yes, and they drove off into the dark in a Jurassic Park jeep that had balloons, streamers, and a “Just Engaged” sign on the back of it.
There was a person in a T-rex costume chasing them off-scene too, just to add the perfect final touch.
