Rising UFC Star Attacked and Hospitalized, Felony Domestic Violence Investigation Opened

Share

A rising UFC star was attacked in Hawaii over the weekend and hospitalized for what TMZ describes as “major injuries.”

Honolulu police told TMZ Sports that Rachael Ostovich suffered a fracture of her orbital bone, which surrounds the eye.

Ostovich, 27, fights in the UFC’s flyweight division.

She has a professional record of 4-4 and is scheduled to fight Paige Van Zant on Jan. 19 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.

If she did indeed suffer a broken bone in her face, she likely would not be recovered in time for the fight.

Honolulu police told TMZ Sports that they have opened a felony domestic violence investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Sources have reportedly told TMZ Sports that Ostovich’s attacker is “someone close to her.”

Ostovich’s manager, Brian Butler-Au, confirmed to ESPN on Monday that Ostovich was taken to a hospital in Hawaii for treatment and has been released.

One of Ostovich’s four career victories came against Karine Gevorgyan in December of last year.

She lost her last fight to Montana De La Rosa on July 6.
