Punk Accosts Sen. McConnell, But Diners and Big Guy in Camo Hat Have Different Plans

Share

I’m not normally a Mitch McConnell fan, but lately he’s been towing the line, doing his job, and I believe adequately serving the people.

He was a stalwart defender of Justice Brett Kavanaugh during the confirmation hearings and actually acted the way I would like to see all inside-the-beltway Republicans act in support of the Constitution, the rule of law and due process.

So, yes, it was a tough few weeks for Senate Republicans and they deserve a break in their home states.

McConnell and his wife Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao were taking the night off and enjoying a meal out at Havana Rumba in Louisville when a crazed patron of the restaurant decided to start screaming at the senator.

In this video you can see other patrons give it back to the disruptor, as well as a big camo cap-wearing gentleman who stepped in to stop the chaos.

“Oh yeah, why don’t you get out of here? Why don’t you leave our entire country,” said the disrupting diner.

The woman who shot the video told TMZ: “before she started recording, the main aggressor slammed his fists down on McConnell’s table, grabbed his doggie bag and threw the food out the door of the restaurant.”

She also added, “the main gripe seemed to be the Senator’s stance on Social Security and health care,” and before she started shooting video: “the main aggressor was screaming that McConnell was killing people with his views.”

Should liberal mobs be punished for disturbing the peace of Republicans in public restaurants?

TMZ reported a total of four men confronted the senator and his wife.

Local News WLKY reported: “‘The Leader and Secretary Chao enjoyed their meal in Louisville last night and they appreciate those who spoke up against incivility. They hope other patrons weren’t too inconvenienced by left-wing tantrums. As the Leader often says, the Senate will not be intimidated by the antics of far-left protestors,’ press secretary Stephanie Penn said in a statement.”

And the restaurant also released a statement to WLKY: “We deeply regret the incident that took place at our restaurant this weekend. We strongly believe everyone should feel welcome and safe in our restaurants.”

“It was Friday night in the middle of the rush and our staff was caught off guard as the incident developed quickly. Once we were aware of the situation we acted quickly and efficiently to assure that everyone was safe.”

“For 14 years, we have properly handled every situation that has arisen with no complaints of any kind. We will continue to do so, training our staff and management better.”

“Havana Rumba has always been a welcoming place to all who want to enjoy delicious Cuban cuisine and we are committed to continue bringing that to our Louisville community.”

McConnell was reported as keeping his cool during the incident and thanking patrons for their support and shaking hands before he left for the evening.

The left isn’t doing themselves any favors by creating scenes like this one in public against Republicans.

They are already melting down over being associated with a mob mentality, which is probably how most of us now see radical liberals.

McConnell is right to admonish incivility. We are all entitled to our opinions and free to express them as long as we don’t infringe on the peace of others.

I think this mob uprising is going to backfire on liberals during the midterms.
