Mom Pregnant for 1st Time Shares Hilarious Moment She Wore Car Seat Cover as Skirt
As a first-time mother, you have a lot of learning moments. Some of them make you want to cry, and others make you burst out laughing.
Lori Farrell is one of these mothers-to-be as well as a blogger that found herself in a hilarious predicament.
Like many moms, Farrell was gifted with a range of hand-me-downs from plenty of friends with kids of their own.
Farrell, who hails from Raleigh, North Carolina, was appreciative of the secondhand baby items, even if she didn’t know exactly what they all were.
In a bag of clothes and other baby products, Farrell found an item that she thought was for herself.
The black and white striped garment looked to be a stylish skirt, so Farrell did what anyone would and wore it out to show it off.
In a hilarious turn of events, the expectant mother later learned that the skirt she’d even worn to work was actually a car seat cover.
Farrell discovered the error after looking up the Itzy Ritzy brand up online.
“I thought the gathered sides were ‘ruching’ and that it was a maternity skirt ― except I thought the tag was oddly placed in the front,” she told HuffPost. “I turned the skirt around to hide the tag and headed to work. I joked with my mom on the phone that I wasn’t so sure my skirt was a skirt, but that it looked cute so I didn’t care.”
However, the Mom Boss 4-in-1 Multi-Use Cover was versatile enough that it could be used as a nursing cover, shopping cart cover or even an infinity scarf.
“If you feel like a failure today, just know that I wore a car seat cover a friend gave me because I thought it was a skirt,” Farrell posted on Facebook.
The comments on Farrell’s viral post were just as hilarious as her mishap, as many complimented her on the skirt and tagged their friends.
“Nothing has happened to me like this before, but I am prone to embarrassing moments so this was just another to add to the list,” Farrell told WAPT. “I enjoy laughing at myself, though.”
While the look that Farrell achieved was close to flawless, she told HuffPost that she doesn’t plan on wearing it again. She added that “if desperate times call for it I’m not opposed to it.”
Farrell is expecting her baby in June, and we wish her all the best with her bundle of joy!
