'Planted Fake Corpses': Former El-Sayed Campaign Worker Charged in Alleged Conspiracy to Victimize Supporters of Israel
A woman who served as a paid employee of Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is among a group facing charges for an alleged campaign of intimidation aimed at supporters of Israel.
Federal prosecutors on Friday announced four indictments against individuals alleged to have been part of a conspiracy to force the University of Michigan to cut its ties with the world’s only Jewish state, the New York Post reported Monday.
But an even larger number of suspects had already been indicted in June, including the one-time El-Sayed staffer Mariam Odeh, the newspaper reported.
Odeh, 24, was part of a pro-Palestinian group that engaged in a series of controversial activities around the University of Michigan from October 2023 through April 2025, The Detroit News reported in June.
As part of their tactics, according to Just the News, the group “planted fake corpses on lawns and sprayed anti-Israel slogans in front of the then-school president’s home, the feds say.”

Anything genuinely thinking of voting for this guy is insane. This is so far beyond partisan politics.

The gang also allegedly broke the windows of private homes and threw containers of “noxious chemicals” inside, according to the New York Post.
The gang also boasted of the attacks in social media posts, the newspaper reported, and warned its victims that “you cannot hide.”
(Those three words are part of a favorite chant of anti-Israel protesters, usually paired with some form of the phrase “we charge you with genocide.”)
According to The Detroit News, Odeh was on the payroll of the El-Sayed campaign from February to April.
That means her alleged activities with the group and her indictment bracketed her employment.
That also means she was an activist long before joining up with El-Sayed, which indicates that his brand of anti-Israel rhetoric displayed in his “60 Minutes” appearance on Sunday, must have had some attraction for her radical brand of politics.
During his “60 Minutes” interview, El-Sayed could not answer a point-blank question about whether Israel has a right to exist. He had no problems, however, declaring that Palestine does have such a right.

Coupling that with El-Sayed’s ambiguity when it comes to Islamic terrorism, especially when it targets American Jews, it appears that the Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan comes from what used to be the party’s fringe — but is now the mainstream.
In addition to their criminal “activism” at the University of Michigan, Odeh’s gang was also allegedly behind the vandalism of a Rolls Royce subsidiary in Detroit in December 2024, according to The Detroit News.
They “padlocked doors and spraypainted messages on the sidewalk like, ‘FREE PALESTINE’ and ‘LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA,’” the newspaper reported.
Odeh is charged with “conspiracy to transmit threats in interstate and foreign commerce,” according to The Detroit News.
She faces up to five years in prison, the newspaper reported.
