Omar Takes Jab at Trump with Pathetic Photoshoot of Her and Pelosi in Africa

Share

During President Donald Trump’s campaign rally last month in North Carolina, audience members chanted “Send her back!” in reference to Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Although the rhythmic phrase didn’t appear to impress Trump, as this video reflects, the left still thinks he is culpable.

As much as Democrats acted offended by that moment — blaming our 45th president in the process — they’re now trying to use it to their advantage, as Fox News reported.

During their journey to Africa this week, Somalia native Omar and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi posed for photos at the Door of No Return, a Ghana memorial to the slave trade, according to Fox News.

The freshman congresswoman tweeted the pictures out to her followers on Thursday, coupling them with a dig at Trump supporters and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the latter of whom had offered to purchase a plane ticket for Omar to visit her homeland.

“So grateful for the honor to return to Mother Africa,” she tweeted in part.

Omar and Pelosi are traversing the continent with the Black Caucus, which shared its own photos via Twitter while referring to the House speaker as “the most powerful woman in America” (perhaps reminding New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who’s still in charge around Capitol Hill).

We shouldn’t overlook the fact Omar pointed out that Pelosi did more than make flight arrangements to Africa — “she went back with me.”

Do you think Ilhan Omar's tweet from Africa was a jab at President Trump and Rand Paul?

That statement raises the question: How would the only “squad” member born overseas have reacted if Trump and Paul had invited her to accompany them to that continent? Probably in the same dismissive way bitter Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings and the Rev. Al Sharpton reacted when the Trump administration offered to cooperate to clean up Baltimore.

The band Toto’s ubiquitous 1981 hit single “Africa” includes the lyric “I hear the drums echoing tonight” — which seems apropos as Omar continues to beat the worn drum about “Send her back!”

How long Democrats will sound off about it remains to be heard.
