Notorious RINO Flake Cheers Acosta's Anti-Trump Crusade

Share

Lame duck “Republican” Sen. Jeff Flake gave words of support for CNN’s belligerent reporter, Jim Acosta, during his speech at the congressional correspondents’ dinner on Wednesday night.

Flake’s comments come as his term as a U.S. senator is nearly over. Flake will be replaced by far-left Democratic Senator-elect Kyrsten Sinema.

However, we won’t notice much change in the Senate when Flake’s successor takes his place because Flake’s opposition to President Donald Trump is nearly identical to anti-Trump comments made by the most liberal senators.

Proving that he will continue to oppose Trump at every opportunity, Flake ended his speech at the congressional correspondents’ dinner with absurd words of encouragement for CNN’s unruly reporter.

“I’ve enjoyed well almost every minute of it. The work you do here is more important than ever and you do it well. Please keep doing it. And lastly, and most sincerely, go get ‘em Acosta,” he said.

It’s disappointing, but not surprising, that Flake would support Acosta in his battle against Trump.

Acosta, who has a history of misconduct at White House news conferences, has been fighting to regain his White House press pass after it was revoked for his most recent outburst.

Do you think Flake will try to oppose Trump in 2020?

Flake doesn’t seem to mind that Acosta’s disruptive behavior has robbed other reporters of a chance to ask questions.

Flake’s quip about Acosta is just one instance out of his many anti-Trump comments in recent weeks.

Last Friday, Flake hinted that he could possibly run for president in 2020 because “somebody needs to.”

“I’ve not ruled it out. I’ve not ruled it in. Just, somebody needs to run on the Republican side,” Flake said.

On Wednesday, Flake threatened to block all of Trump’s judicial nominees unless Congress passed unnecessary legislation to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

“This bill is designed to do one thing: protect the integrity of the Special Counsel’s investigation, and spare it of any interference from the executive branch, including from those who may themselves be subjects of that investigation,” Flake said on the Senate floor.

And let’s not forget that Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh had his confirmation delayed because Flake demanded an investigation.

Considering Flake’s track record in opposing Trump, it makes sense why he would support the chaos Acosta brings to White House news conferences.
