NFL Legend Freaks Out on National TV After Saints Player Pays Homage to Infamous TD Celebration
Fox NFL analyst and well-known stick-in-the-mud Troy Aikman just found another way to hate joy and happiness Sunday afternoon.
The New Orleans Saints put an end to the Los Angeles Rams’ efforts to have an undefeated season with a thrilling 45-35 victory.
The game itself was a blast to watch, the kind of contest that had entertainment in spades for people who love all things that are awesome.
Lots of scoring? Well, just look at the final score. A competitive game? The game was tied at 35 before the Saints scored the last 10 points to put it on ice.
And a touchdown celebration in a crucial moment as the pure exuberance of victory washed over the hero of the day?
Well, watch it for yourself!

The Saints’ Michael Thomas hauled in a pass from Drew Brees, and took it 72 yards for the score that put the Saints up by the final margin of the game.
Thomas then retrieved an old-school flip phone he had planted under the padding of the goalpost and evoked an old touchdown celebration from Joe Horn by pretending to make a call.
And granted, such things are a penalty in the No Fun League — use of a prop is against the rules on touchdown celebrations — but it made for some great Twitter and punctuated a fantastic game of pro football that even someone with no rooting interest in the outcome could watch and enjoy.
This, of course, simply set the curmudgeonly Aikman off on a get-off-my-lawn rant.
“This is too big of a game to be risking those kinds of yards,” Aikman tut-tutted.
Which…well, excuse me, but put a sock in it, Troy. Twitter let him have it for ruining the moment.

And one fan even went so far as to suggest revoking Aikman’s status as a Hall of Famer for such a truly mood-killing condemnation.

In a sports landscape where there is so much else you can be watching on any given day, the last thing the NFL needs is its own commentators denigrating the product on the field.
But that’s the No Fun League for you, with the press-the-mute-button broadcast team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman existing seemingly for the sole purpose of getting the Internet angry.
