New Development in Red Hen Story -- Huckabee Says Owner Tailed Sarah's Family After She Left

Share

Liberals and progressives claim to be tolerant of others but instead display an incredible intolerance toward those who are associated with or support President Donald Trump.

That intolerance was on gross display over the weekend when it was revealed that the liberal owner of a small restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, had kicked out White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and her dinner party rather than tolerantly serve a member of the Trump administration with whom they disagree politically.

The incident first came to light when an employee of the Red Hen restaurant  bragged on social media about how his owner had kicked out Sanders, and Sanders later responded with a tweet that provided her side of the account.

The Washington Post interviewed the restaurant owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, and reported that everything had been handled peacefully, politely and without much a scene being caused.

But in a radio interview Monday with talk show host Laura Ingraham, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — father of the press secretary — revealed another part of the story that had conveniently been left out of the account by WaPo and the restaurateur, according to Mediaite.

The initial confrontation in the Red Hen may have been handled smoothly and with politeness, but it apparently didn’t end there, as the owner of the Red Hen is alleged to have followed Sanders’ in-laws who had been with her at the Red Hen to another restaurant and continued to harass them there.

“By the way Laura, there’s a part of that story that hasn’t been told, you’re going to be the first to hear it,” Huckabee stated.

“Once Sarah and her family left, of course, Sarah was asked to please vacate, Sarah and her husband just went home. They had sort of had enough,” he continued.

“But the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant. The owner of the Red Hen — nobody’s told this — then followed them across the street, called people, and organized a protest yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene,” Huckabee added.

The former governor noted that his daughter’s in-laws are actually fairly liberal and not particularly supportive of President Donald Trump, which made the fact that they were subjected to liberal anti-Trump protests rather ironic.

In fact, Huckabee described how one member of the family had actually confronted the protesters and told them to stop making liberals look so bad by yelling and protesting at an individual that wasn’t even at the premises.

“This is what the left has been reduced to. It’s really tragic,” Huckabee said. “And it is dangerous.”

Are liberals taking Trump derangement too far?

Wilkinson, who had told WaPo that she’d kick Sanders out again if she faced the situation all over again, either didn’t share with WaPo what happened after Sanders left her restaurant or WaPo felt no need to divulge the rest of the story that significantly undercuts the narrative of a concerned but polite restaurant owner merely looking out for the emotional safety and well-being of her employees.

It will be interesting to see if this reported aftermath of the Red Hen incident will be confirmed and further investigated, or if WaPo will conduct a follow-up interview of Wilkinson to discuss it, or admit that they already knew and declined to report it.

As Huckabee stated, this is what the left has been reduced to in the Age of Trump … blindly raging against anyone associated with him and displaying a grossly hateful intolerance toward anyone that dissents from their progressive ideology.
