MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski: Trump 'Seems To Want' Mass Shootings to Occur

Share

I’d thought MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski had outdone herself (that’s not a compliment) Monday on “Morning Joe.”

The show’s female co-host had suggested that Democrats could gain “traction” by piling on President Donald Trump in the aftermath of the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

That was until Tuesday, when Brzezinski told Joe Scarborough — and their viewers, who could probably be counted on two hands — that Trump “seems to want” such tragedies, the Washington Examiner reported.

Listen for yourself via this video, though I’d recommend not doing so on a full stomach:

“Isn’t it OK to deduce that at this point, this is what [Trump] wants?” she said, which couldn’t be further from the truth — though her on-air and off-air partner didn’t interrupt.

“He is inciting hatred, inciting violence, inciting racism. I mean, this is a president who seems to want these things to happen,” Brzezinski added. Scarborough took the bait, inexplicably claiming that Trump is “inciting hatred now.”

Where to start in assessing such obtuse, baseless and irresponsible statements?

The only plausible explanation for Brzezinski’s fictional accusations is that she is trying to increase “Morning Joe” ratings — but I anticipate that strategy backfiring and having the opposite impact. The show has nowhere to go but up, so she and Scarborough must feel the need to go down swinging.

It’s remotely possible that Brzezinski could be a Republican plant (given that Scarborough is an ex-Republican and disappointed independent) who is trying to drag MSNBC so far left to the point of being unwatchable.

Otherwise, it’s inconceivable that she — or anyone, regardless of anti-Trump bias — would go on national TV without wearing a mask and voice such unfounded comments.

It’s as if Brzezinski neither knows nor cares that Trump condemned the weekend’s two tragedies and also censured racism and white supremacy.

Do you think Mika Brzezinski should find another profession?

Even so, the commander in chief’s solemn address to our nation Monday wasn’t good enough for MSNBC’s delirious duo. It’s difficult to fathom how anybody with a functioning brain could interpret Trump’s speech as “inciting hatred” — but Brzezinski and Scarborough ran with that notion.

Twitter users saw through the smoke and mirrors that “Morning Joe” utilizes in sowing seeds of more division and resentment.

It’s only a matter of time before sanctimonious Mika Brzezinski sounds off with another mind-numbing assertion. The upside is there won’t be many tuned in to hear the woman’s next abomination.
