Mom Hits Record When Garbageman Picks Up Her Kid. Then She Posts It Online.

Sanitation work is not a job that most adults dream of obtaining. Frankly, it’s a dirty job that is vital to keep communities clean and safe.

It can also be physically demanding, and not everyone is up for the challenge. Adults may dream of a suit and tie career, but have you ever noticed how many children admire their local sanitation workers?

Children’s faces often light up when the garbage truck comes rolling down the street.

They are able to admire the skill and physical strength that often goes into collecting our trash and keeping our neighborhoods clean.

This admiration can begin at quite a young age. Sixteen-month-old Gray is fascinated with his local garbage man.

Gray lives in the Jefferson Park subdivision of a Baton Rouge neighborhood.

Mr. Anthony, as he is known around the neighborhood, might as well be a superhero in the eyes of little Gray.

Shelley Guidry, Gray’s mother, posted an adorable video of Mr. Anthony holding Gray.

Mr. Anthony was letting Gray help him with his garbage man duties by encouraging Gray to be strong and push the garbage can up the driveway.

This sweet moment was not a one-time kind act. Mr. Anthony and Gray have apparently been friends since Gray was just five months old.

Sometimes Mr. Anthony will even take a few minutes to sit down and draw with chalk outside with Gray.

Guirdy wrote on Facebook, “[T]hey really have the cutest little friendship! It’s just about the sweetest thing.”

One person who viewed the video commented that Mr. Anthony used to be her old neighbor and that this video is representative of what a good person he is and how much he loves kids. Guidry responded, “I was hoping someone who knows Anthony would see this – we love our mornings with Mr. Anthony!”

Ryan Guidry, Gray’s father, is delighted to see how Mr. Anthony has received so much positive attention and recognition after his wife posted the video.

He hopes that others spread the love and share the video.

He wrote on his Facebook page, “These guys work hard, and they still take time out of their day to spend time with my son. That time means a lot to our family, and I’m glad it’s touching so many others as well.”

What a sweet, garbage-collecting duo! No matter what job Gray ends up pursuing, Mr. Anthony has been an excellent role model of how to work hard and treat people kindly along the way!
