Mom Brings 4-Month-Old Puppy to Target & Photos Are Happiest Thing You'll See All Day

Share

I used to believe that people who had a Facebook or Twitter for their pets did not deserve to fully participate in humanity.

Often I wondered if they should be removed to a distant island where they could live their days out in solitude and reflection.

You may say this is a harsh approach. I used to disagree: it was the only way to save humanity.

Life goes on and I have gone along. When I discovered the greatness of Zira the Corgi on Facebook I knew I could no longer remain in my rigid ways. And darn it, dogs are cute.

Zira, a corgi and mini Australian shepherd mix, has an active social life for one so young and small. She has a best friend, Poppy the pit bull.

She loves to chew anything that is, urm, chewable. “She loves getting new toys, ones that squeak, crinkle, or bounce,” wrote her owner. “And since she’s our first dog, she gets spoiled as much as possible!”

She loves car rides. No information was given if this is a head-out-the-window/tongue-wagging love or sitting-in-the-seat-barking-at-the-passing-trees love.

Her person, Jesse, took her — by car I would assume — to Target the other day. Being a Good Girl, Zira got a new treat and toy.

From the photos her person posted, the real treat was the pure delight and joy the pup took in being in a new situation and around new people.

“This was her second trip, although her first one she just slept the entire time,” Jesse said. Not only was she awake this time, she is waking the whole world up to her cuteness.

And the people took notice. “While we were turning a corner, this woman shopping saw her and freaked out!”

Zira’s person added, “She couldn’t stop going on and on about how cute Zira was. Zira just started licking her, and the woman loved it.”

Zira did what she does best: spread joy to the world. Who could resist such a cuddly fluff with such beautiful eyes?

Of course, you may be wondering about why there is a dog in a people store. Since posting the story, Jesse has updated on Facebook, revealing that they were not aware that Target is only for people and service animals, and not cute companion animals.

They urge all their followers to please support service-animal friendly businesses, especially since so many people sneaking their dogs in and pretending they are service animals is becoming a major problem.

Fortunately for Zira, the service she provides is unlimited cuteness — even if that means she probably shouldn’t visit Target again, there are plenty of pet stores she would be welcome at. Thanks for bringing joy to so many people, little pup!
