Mexican Flags Showed Up During Beto's Small Rally While Trump's Was All Red, White and Blue

Share

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise — the atmosphere at Robert “Beto” O’Rourke’s Texas rally was patriotic.

The only problem is that the patriotism seemed to have little to do with the United States.

Many pictures from O’Rourke’s Monday rally show more Mexican flags than American ones. In fact, in some photos, there’s not a single red, white and blue flag or banner to be seen.

This fact seemed in line with the message the potential presidential hopeful was pushing that night.

As CNS News reported, O’Rourke proudly took an anti-wall stand at the rally, saying, “we know that walls do not save lives. Walls end lives.”

“We stand for America,” O’Rourke proclaimed. “And we stand against walls!”

This, of course, seems at odds with reality. Even O’Rourke’s own rally had walls to prevent total chaos from breaking out. The irony seemed to be lost on “Beto,” who happily greeted fans through a barrier.

Across the street at President Donald Trump’s rally, there was an altogether different atmosphere.

At times the energy and excitement drowned out O’Rourke’s gathering, even forcing the El Paso native to pause while Trump’s voice boomed.

And of course, the pictures from Trump’s rally show one more key difference: There wasn’t a Mexican flag in sight. Instead, the president’s event was a sea of red, white and blue. Hanging from the rafters of the El Paso County Coliseum was a giant American flag, flanked by “finish the wall” banners.

Even the overflow outside of Trump’s venue was a patriotic scene.

Although there’s no accurate count of participants at each venue, the energy coming from Trump’s was vastly superior.

In the unlikely event these two end up facing each other in the 2020 election, the choice Americans face is clear. One candidate is unashamed to fly a 60-foot Old Glory and celebrate our great nation. The other candidate’s message is open borders and foreign flags.
