Check Your Cupboards: Massive Recall of Infant Medicine
Parents beware! There has been a massive recall of generic liquid infant ibuprofen that you need to know about.
The voluntary recall is an expansion of a previous infant ibuprofen recall that may affect the products you have in your home, according to Shared.
The affected infant ibuprofen was sold at a variety of national retailers including Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar stores under the Equate, CVS Health and Family Wellness brands.
Tris Pharma of New Jersey manufactured the recalled liquid infant ibuprofen that was sold in 0.5 and 1-ounce bottles.
The recall was issued because some of the bottles contained higher than the allowable dosage of ibuprofen, which could be unsafe for infants.

Tris Pharma warns parents that the recalled infant ibuprofen could cause “permanent NSAID-associated (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) renal (kidney) injury” in infants who take the medication.
Symptoms from the recalled infant ibuprofen could also cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, tinnitus and internal bleeding.
According to Tris Pharma, no reports of adverse effects from recalled medication have been reported.
