Masked Invaders Stage Terrifying Armed Attack on CEO's Family Home: Both Daughters Shot, Wife Struck with Hammer

Three masked intruders forced their way into a multimillion-dollar home in Toronto’s exclusive Bridle Path neighborhood before dawn Thursday, opening fire on a real estate executive and his two adult daughters, as well as striking his wife with a hammer.

The attack began shortly after 3:45 a.m. on Oct. 29 at a residence on Hyde Park Circle, according to a report from Canadian news outlet CP24.

Toronto Police Inspector Kristy Smith said the men entered through a rear door, went upstairs, and demanded valuables. A confrontation followed in which the invaders fired multiple shots.

The victims were David Morton, CEO of the MAC Group; his wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton, the company’s president; and their daughters, Maggie and Cristina Zohil-Morton, according to a report from People magazine.

Police have not publicly confirmed the names of the victims.

Morton and one of his daughters were shot in the leg, and the other daughter was shot under the arm, while his wife was hit with the hammer.

Two of the four sustained injuries police described as life-altering and remained in the hospital. The other two suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Detailed descriptions of the three suspects were not yet available, but investigators were working to identify them, according to a report from the New York Post.

Smith called the attack frightening and disturbing for the victims, their extended family, and the wider community.

The men reportedly fled the scene in an SUV.

It remains unclear whether they left with any property.

Smith said the apparent motive was robbery and that a demand for valuables had been made inside the home.

The choice of an affluent neighborhood, she added, suggested the suspects were seeking valuables.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow called the attack deeply troubling and said she was praying for the family’s recovery.

She urged anyone with information or camera footage to contact police. The three suspects remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation is ongoing.
