Aviation Legend Sets Record Straight on Neil Armstrong After Hollywood Removes Flag
When will Hollywood learn? Their anti-America agenda may just be their undoing.
Once again they use their pop culture movie platform to try to subconsciously erase the idea in our culture that American exceptionalism is good and progressivism is the new order of the day.
This latest controversy swirls around the movie “First Man” due to be released October 12 of this year.
“First Man” is the latest Hollywood version of the moon landing and all the drama they can create between relationships and logistics surrounding that event.
We first heard rumors that the film posthumously omits the flag from significance in the recent recount of the moon landing.
Now a historical heavy hitter weighs in to set the record straight on the movie’s portrayal of Neil Armstrong. And he ought to know.
Apparently, Gen. Chuck Yeager didn’t appreciate the idea that Hollywood inaccurately depicted the character of a man he knew very well.
A tweet posted by Clarence Swirly alerted Yeager to the movie’s apparent agenda to portray Neil Armstrong as a left-leaning, non-flag waving progressive.
Yeager responded in a brief but powerful way that seemed to stop that agenda dead in its tracks.
That's not the Neil Armstrong I knew

And rather than portray the great accomplishment of having an American be the first man to walk on the moon, Hollywood chose to diminish American exceptionalism.
The Daily Caller gives the star Ryan Gosling’s explanation of the portrayal as a “human achievement.”
“I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement (and) that’s how we chose to view it. I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again, he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible,” Gosling said.
“He also added that the movie ‘transcended countries and borders,’ when asked about the decision not to show the flag,” according to The Daily Caller.
Yeager also weighed in on the choice to leave out the American flag in the moon walk depiction.
More Hollywood make-believe

If you’re wondering whether or not this movie is worth your time and money, Rotten Tomatoes raves about the film. Although, overall critics do not generally point to any particular shining moments. Some do give cast performances the same kind of human achievement comments Gosling expressed about the historical event, rather than noting any standouts performances.
The headline describes it as: “The First Critics To Weigh In On Damien Chazelle’s Space Drama Say It’s Thoughtful, Well-Acted, and Beautifully Filmed, Even If It’s Not A Game Changer.”
The Hayride gets more to the point. “We were excited when we heard about the impending premiere of ‘First Man,’ the new movie about the heroic moon landing of Neil Armstrong. We love historical films, when they’re done well, and there hasn’t been a particularly good one made about the journey to the moon. Television, yes, but not a movie.
We were excited. Not anymore. This sounds like garbage.”
I can’t imagine a movie about the moon landing without a proverbial plant of “Old Glory,” and I also prefer not to support the rewrite of history. Omitting the flag does that.
