The 2600 was a low tech system, but was able to survive the video game crash of ’83 and continued to push through the 80’s even while other consoles with better software were released. Klax was the swansong game, ending the 2600’s life-span encompassing 3 decades. Well, to be fair, Klax was the last official game released in the US.

There was an independent game put into limited production that was released in Germany in 1992 named Acid Drop. It was supposed to be the second wind for the console, but only released at a few retailers, taking the system to its grave .
