Sadie Robertson of 'Duck Dynasty' Encourages 'Bring Your Bible to School Day' in Video

Share

It’s that time of year again.

Note the date, folks — Oct. 4, 2018, is officially “Bring Your Bible to School Day.”

According to Biblica, this set-aside day has been inspiring students to stand up for their religious freedoms since 2014.

We’ve seen the reports. Stories sharing accounts of students being denied their rights to pray or read their Bibles at public schools.

In 2014, according to Fox News, a Florida teacher humiliated a student for reading his Bible during free time. “I love reading my Bible any time that I’m allowed to read it,” the student told Fox columnist Todd Starnes.

In 2016, a Washington Post article set the record straight regarding what is and is not allowed regarding religion practiced in a public school setting.

While schools are not allowed to push religion on students, the students are free to pray or read their Bibles privately as long as these practices don’t interfere with class time.

Will you participate in #BringYourBible to School Day?

Focus on the Family’s Jim Daly stands in full support of the #BringYourBible movement. In an interview with CBN, Daly shared Focus on the Family’s reasons for sponsoring the event.

“It’s a wonderful day where kids can express their religious freedom,” Daly told CBN. “They are absolutely constitutionally guaranteed the right to bring their Bible to school.”

Even “Ducky Dynasty’s” Sadie Robertson is on board with the movement. She shared a video on Instagram encouraging students to participate.

“We are living freely,” Robertson says in the video. “We are livin’ boldly, and we are choosing to say ‘yes’ to bringing God into the tough situations.”

Daly told CBN he expects more than half a million students to participate this year. Students can sign up on the Bring Your Bible website.

Participants who take time to sign up are given a free, downloadable “how-to guide,” and also have a chance to win a trip to meet the lovely Sadie Robertson in person.

Students are also encouraged to share on social media using the hashtag #BringYourBible. Will you or someone you know live “boldly” and join the movement this year?
