Mother Adopts Baby She'd Been Fostering After Discovering It Was Adopted Son's Sister

Adoption stories are by far some of the most heartwarming ones out there. A parent reaches out willingly to take in a child as their own.

One single mom from Colorado always dreamed of being a mom. Sadly, Katie Page suffered from infertility problems during her marriage.

But Page didn’t let that stop her from becoming a mom. She decided foster parenting was just the thing for her.

“It was on my bucket list and I also always wanted to adopt,” Page told Good Morning America. Four children came in and out of this mom’s loving home before she met her son.

Grayson was abandoned at the hospital as an infant. Now he’s 2 years old and happy as can be — especially with his new mom by his side.

Page adopted Grayson on May 25, 2017. She shared with GMA about how it was love at first sight with the precious boy.

“The minute I saw him in the hospital, I fell in love,” Page told Good Morning America. “He’s so calm and sweet. He has the biggest challenges of all the kids.”

But Page’s adoption story didn’t end with Grayson. Only one month after they made it official, Page learned of another newborn, Hannah, now 1.

After fostering Hannah and decided she wanted to adopt her as well, Page began the adoption process.

What she discovered next was too close to be a coincidence. Page explained to GMA about Hannah’s “story, which was really similar to Grayson’s. I saw her medical bracelet and the first name of her mother was the same name as Grayson’s mom.”

A DNA test confirmed what Page suspected to be true. Grayson and Hannah were biological siblings.

Hannah officially became a part of the family on Dec. 28, 2018. Now, Page has her sights set on adopting Hannah and Grayson’s younger sibling this year.

“I was a single woman in a four-bedroom house and now every room in my house is full,” Page told GMA. “It’s never dull.”

The busy mom is grateful for all the love she’s received since sharing her story with the world. “Thank you to ALL those reading our miracle adoption story!!” she wrote on Facebook.

We wish this sweet family all the best in the years to come, and we hope Katie gets her wish of adopting Hannah and Grayson’s 5-month-old sibling as well.
