Massive Bear Slinks Up Porch Steps, Woman Uses Her Best 'Mom Voice' & Sends It Running

Share

Moms are some of the most loving people in the world. They nurture and care and soothe, often knowing just what to say to make you feel better.

But watch out for mom’s bad side. It’s a side no one wants to be on. Mess with a woman’s children and you-know-what breaks loose.

My own mother referred to her protective side as “tiger mode,” but some might be more familiar with the term “mama bear.”

Such a term is fitting when it comes to one woman from Lake Tahoe, California. Brittany Christensen was getting ready to walk her dog when she found an intruder in her yard.

In Lake Tahoe, the summer months are bound to bring about wildlife sightings. The area is, after all, referred to as “bear country” by some.

While bear attacks are more rare, the animals have been known to dump over a trash can or two in their day.

They seem to have no fear when it comes to wandering into residential areas, either. That is, until Christensen used what she likes to call her “mom voice.”

When a massive bear wandered into Christensen’s yard and then began to come up her porch steps, the woman decided to show the bear she meant business.

She caught the entire encounter on film, too. Watch as she tells the bear exactly where he can go.

“My mom voice actually worked!” Christensen wrote in her Facebook post. “Just wish it worked on my kids.”

The viral video has been viewed 25K times and shared by hundreds across social media. That’s one famous bear.

“Since this is being shared so much, and technically I was working when this happened, next time I will throw one of my tumblers at it!” Christensen wrote.

The Lake Tahoe mom belongs to a group called The Coven of Sisters — a group of 4 women who design items to sell online.

Christensen designs tumblers. She may wish she had thrown a tumbler at the bear, but I’d say the video says she didn’t need to.

That bear wasn’t coming anywhere near Mama Bear Christensen. She’s the kind of woman you’d want around in a scary — or in this case, hairy — situation.
