Marine Breaks Down in Tears Before Even Reaching Family When He Lays Eyes on Newborn Son
Homecomings are some of the sweetest moments we share in this lifetime. A reunion between old friends. A family together again after months or even years apart.
For military families, those homecomings are all the more anticipated. After months of worrying about their soldier deployed in another country, they have finally returned home.
When Marine Cpl. Brandon Crespo came home after a six-month deployment in 2018, the moment was extra sweet, as it was the first time he got to meet his infant son, Noah — born on June 13, 2018, according to Little Things.
Francis was pregnant during her husband’s time away. When she went in to labor, he was able to listen over the phone when Noah was born.
The couple shared the memory of that day with Ellen. After their video went viral — with over 3 million views to date — the Crespos were interviewed on her show.
“It was definitely hard…” Francis shared, explaining that sometimes they only talked once a month while Brandon was on the ship. “Having to go through pregnancy all by myself, it was definitely difficult…”
Ellen and Shutterfly awarded the couple a check for $20,000 so they could go on the honeymoon they never had. When you see the homecoming video, you’ll understand exactly what all the fuss is about.
Francis filmed a vlog of that day as she, Noah and their friends and family waited to hug Brandon again.
“When we first posted the video it was just for family members,” Francis told Ellen. “We’re just regular people,” she added, sharing her shock over how quickly the video blew up on social media.
