Family of John McCain Hit with Another Devastating Loss After 'Tragic Accident' Takes Life of Dog
Losing a beloved pet is like losing a family member. For dog lovers, in particular, the loss of a faithful pooch can be heartbreaking.
Sadly, the late John McCain’s family has said goodbye to their dog Burma following a “tragic accident” at their home in Arizona.
“To all who loved our dear Burma,” Cindy McCain, the former senator’s wife, wrote on Instagram. “She now frolicking with the one she loved most in heaven now.”
The loss of Burma comes too soon after the tragic passing of McCain on Aug. 25, 2018. He lost his battle with cancer at the age of 81.
“Every time I think my heart can’t be broken any further,” Meghan McCain wrote on Instagram.
“Our dog Burma was my father’s birthday present years ago and was absolutely and truly devoted to him.”

Our daughter @meghanmccain was married yesterday. It was a wonderful celebration.
Burma often showed up in McCain family photos on social media. Whether it was at Meghan’s wedding or just playing around the house, Burma was never far away.
“She would never leave his side,” Meghan said. “Followed him around every single step when he would walk around our ranch, slept by his side every night.”
“The love this dog gave him was equal to a family member,” Meghan McCain explained in her post. “I love you Burma and hope you’re in heaven jumping into creeks, chasing sticks and fish with Dad.”
We have no doubt that she is. It’s clear this dog’s relationship with her master was something truly special.

Rest in peace, Burma. You will be missed by all who loved you. Our hearts are with the McCain family as they grieve the loss of their sweet pup.
