Disney Finds Boy's Left Behind Toy. Sends Him Care Package Filled With 'Disney Magic'

Share

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of hate in the news for the Disney company. For whatever reason, we live in a culture where people are quick to judge and slow to give praise when someone actually does something right.

We complain and grumble, often only noticing the things people do wrong. Just last week I traveled to Disneyland and encountered my fair share of grumpy cast members.

But I also came across plenty more who were kind and happy to help me and my family have a blast at “The Happiest Place on Earth.” Everyone has bad days, so why not share the love when someone does something good?

One mom recently shared her positive experience after arriving home from a trip to Walt Disney World. Kelly Grzech Ramsaran and her family enjoyed a magical time, and when the trip was about to come to a close they decided one last visit to the Boardwalk where a Rapunzel-themed breakfast was in order.

Ramsaran’s four-year-old son, Wes, loves “Toy Story.” So it’s understandable he would want his favorite Slinky Dog along for the fun.

“… he asked if slinky could come too,” Rasmaran shared on Facebook. “I agreed of course!”

I can’t keep track of the numerous times my own kids have wanted to bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal along for a fun outing. My worry as a mom is always the same — what if the toy gets lost or left behind?

That’s exactly what happened to little Wes. “I handed slinky to daddy while I went to the restroom,” Ramsaran wrote. “An hour later, in the car, I asked where slinky was… daddy forgot him on a bench inside the store while he and my son played with the pirate toys. We were devastated!”

Like any mom, Ramsaran made every phone call she could think of. It seemed Slinky Dog was lost for good, but then one returned call changed everything.

“When we got home, I received a call from Boardwalk! Slinky was found! I cried and thanked them and asked how much to ship him. She said it was nothing. Mickey was taking care of it… “

And take care of it Mickey did. The family, native to Riviera Beach, Florida, had no idea Slinky Dog would find his way home in an extra special package.

The cast members who sent the toy back to his rightful owner went the extra mile to make sure Slinky’s time away would be well worth it. Just take a look at what else arrived with the dog.

Along with photos of Slinky’s Boardwalk excursions, the merchandise team included some extra friends in the package. “… we hope you don’t mind, but they wanted to join Slinky on his journey home!”

Awww. I just want to find these anonymous cast members and hug them for keeping the Disney magic alive for this little boy!

“Disney Magic is real!!” the happy mom wrote. Indeed, it is.

If I ever doubted whether Disney has lost what sets it apart from other companies, I’m a firm believer once more that this is the place where “Dreams Come True.” If you don’t agree, just ask Wes Ramsaran and his mom — I’m sure this experience has sealed the deal for many Disney vacations to come!
