Chick-fil-A Employee Needs a Prom Date. Boss Comes Up with Perfect Plan to Help

Share

It’s no secret that Chick-fil-A is known for going above and beyond for their customers. From closing down an entire store so one little boy can be the manager for a day, to opening on a Sunday to feed those affected by a power outage, this restaurant chain aims to serve.

But what about their employees? Does their kindness and “go-all-out” attitude extend to those behind the counter?

One Chick-fil-A in Florida says, yes, it does. While the task of finding someone a prom date may not seem food service related, manager Billy McClarnon has shown otherwise.

Employee Tanner Waters was having a hard time finding a date for his senior prom at Winter Springs High School. McClarnon stepped in and proved matchmaking never goes out of style.

“He said, ‘If you need some help, I can put it up on the marquee,'” Tanner shared of McClarnon’s eagerness to find him the perfect date for prom.

This just goes to show that whether you’re seventeen, like Tanner, or coming into dating late in the game, you’re never too old, or too young, to ask for help.

And wouldn’t you know it, having his name on the marquee has drawn a good amount of interest. “There have been a bunch of people who’ve come in,” Waters admitted.

“Some have offered to buy me dinner, some want to take pictures…” he went on. I have no doubt Waters feels on top of the world now that he’s gone from zero options to more than a few.

The sign has even invited viral attention on social media. Not only has @CFAUvalde tweeted an announcement hoping for a “#Promposal” for Tanner, but several followers have responded as well.

“(I’d) be your prom date hands down,” one Twitter user replied. “Someone wife this man!!” another posted.

“Honestly I’m just trying to have a great night,” Tanner shared in the end. “Have a good time after. Enjoy. It’s senior year!”

I don’t know about you, but I’m rooting for him to find someone who will make it the best night ever. Hopefully, they can share a few nuggets and maybe even a frosted lemonade for dessert!
