Adorable Baby Turtle Born with Heart Outside of Chest Lives, Caretaker Names Her 'Hope'
Miracles are all around; we only need to stop and take the time to look. Some are small, but those miracles are often times the most precious of all.
A viral albino baby turtle, for example, has earned the love of many because of the rare condition she was born with.
The turtle has affectionately been named “Hope” by her caretaker, Mike Aquilina. The name is fitting as Hope continues to thrive despite the fact her heart beats outside of her body.
“Hope has impacted my life in so many ways it actually makes me emotional,” Aquilina said, according to Daily Mail.
“She’s so small and so fragile,” he added. “The most delicate thing but she’s fearless.”
Aquilina, known as Aquamike to his Instagram followers, has posted handfuls of photos of the turtle the internet has fallen in love with.
The 30-year-old recently celebrated a birthday and couldn’t be happier with all the attention little Hope is receiving.
“Happy Birthday to me!” he wrote on Instagram. “Great way to start the year.”
As it turns out, Hope is not the only one in Aquilina’s life with heart issues.
In another Instagram post, the turtle-enthusiast shared some vulnerable thoughts about his mom and asked his followers to pray for her.
“Got two ladies in my life with heart complications now,” Aquilina wrote in January. “Please put up some prayers for my mom!”
Daily Mail reported that Aquilina takes good care of Hope, so we have no doubt this man takes good care of his sweet mom as well.
Our hearts are so full as we watch baby Hope thrive and continue to grow. We’ll say a prayer for her and Aquilina’s mom, too.
After all, it is the best and biggest of hearts that tend to need extra care, compassion and love. We hope to see more of “Hope” in the future.
