4th Grade Boy Goes Viral After Singing 'Imagine' at School Talent Show
Talent season is upon us. With summer comes a line-up of shows that are sure to leave viewers with dropping jaws and rounds of applause.
But not everything can be as big as “America’s Got Talent.” Still, I’ll bet Simon Cowell might’ve hit the Golden Buzzer for one little boy from Lakeside Elementary School in Chicago City.
At first glance, Adam Kornowski appears to be just an average 4th grader.
But then his fingers tickle the keys and his voice sings out, and Adam transforms from average to extraordinary.
Adam’s school talent show inspired him to perform John Lennon’s “Imagine” on the piano.
The song has become iconic throughout the years, and Adam’s performance only serves to show how it’s stood the test of time.
Michelle Kornowski, Adam’s mother, filmed the entire performance and posted the video on her Facebook page. In just about one week, the post has been shared close to 200K times and has been watched 7.3 million times.

The opening notes gave me goosebumps. Then this young man began to sing and I couldn’t help but hold my breath — his voice moved me.
He nails every lyric, too. And, according to his mom, “There wasn’t a parent in the room with a dry eye by the end.”
Adam has been playing piano since he was 5, his father shared in an interview. For only a handful of years with his instrument, this boy certainly has the talent — and heart — to take his passion far.
“A woman stopped me to tell me that she would buy it on iTunes if I put it out there!!” Michelle wrote on Facebook. “I love his bow at the end… so polite!”
The applause and standing ovation his mother said he received were well deserved. I have no doubt Adam acted as an inspiration to his peers — a truly moving performance his family will remember for years to come.
