Prince Louis Makes Balcony Debut Wearing Exact Same Outfit Prince Harry Once Wore

The “Trooping the Colour” ceremony is a special tradition for British royalty. Each year, a military parade steps out in great fanfare to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. Fans always look forward to watching their favorite royals come out for the event dressed in elegant attire.

Although the event is always highly anticipated, this year’s Trooping the Colour was even more momentous than usual. The day marked Prince Louis’ first appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

According to People, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s youngest child was anything but shy when he made his debut.

The gathered crowd immediately captured his attention, and he waved enthusiastically at his fans from his mother’s arms before begging for Prince William’s attention.

Prince Louis turned one on April 23, just in time to attend the Trooping the Colour event alongside older siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Spectators noted that the little boy looked undeniably dapper in his white and blue outfit, adorned with lace details. However, long-time fans didn’t hesitate to notice that the ensemble seemed familiar.

When photos of Prince Harry’s second appearance at Trooping the Colour began circulating online, the similarity was undeniable.

It looked like Prince Louis was carrying out a new royal tradition. His uncle, now 34, wore the same outfit in 1986!

In the 33-year-old photo, Prince Harry is safe in the arms of his aunt, Princess Anne, as he watches the march. When the photos of the boys are placed side-by-side, the family resemblance is obvious.

Examining the pictures revealed yet another noticeable similarity. In the photos, both young sons are hoisted by women who are donned in yellow dresses. The 2019 photo seemed to be an intentional reflection of the past.

However, Kate Middleton’s chosen outfit could have actually been a nod to a different royal.

The pale yellow hat the Duchess of Cambridge wore made its appearance at a royal event once before. In fact, she sported it at sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry last spring!

Kate’s outfit appeared to be a tribute to her sister-in-law’s appearance, considering that Meghan had just returned from maternity leave to attend the Trooping the Colour celebration.

Fans will likely have to wait one more year for Meghan and Prince Harry’s 5-week-old son, Archie, to make his own Trooping the Colour debut.
