Christian Singer Natalie Grant Shares Moment Daughter Helped Pray Her Through Panic Attack

Celebrities aren’t supposed to have the same struggles we do, right? I mean, we see them in magazines and hear their voices coming out of earbuds, and they just sound so perfect.

Their lives seem charmed, divorced from woes like constrained budgets, blemished complexions and insecurities. They have it all together.

But you know what they say about appearances: They don’t always tell the whole truth.

Christian musician Natalie Grant could tell you a thing or two about that. She hasn’t been shy about sharing her troubles with the world.

For instance, The Tennessean reported in 2017 that she had to undergo treatment for thyroid cancer. Fortunately, physicians were able to fully remove the tumors without damaging her voice.

“I am just beyond grateful,” Grant said. “This is absolutely the best possible outcome, and thank you to all of you for praying and believing and just storming the throne of God on my behalf.”

But even after a wondrous grace like that, life goes on with all of its trials and tribulations. Four days after Christmas, Grant shared on Facebook how her young daughter had helped her through yet another problem.

Grant had been visiting her parents and on the flight back to her home, something horrible happened: She suddenly couldn’t breathe.

Have you ever had someone else's prayer help you through a difficult time?

“I had a panic attack on my flight tonight,” she wrote. “My first one in a very long time.”

Grant suspected that all of the accreted issues that tend to clump up around the holiday might have been to blame. “Maybe the exhaustion of the last month of touring, going straight into Christmas, and I’m a little run down,” she said.

“Then again, I was also extra sad to leave my parents this time. These moments are so precious and they come and go too quickly.”

Whatever the reason, she soon found herself fidgeting restlessly, her normal breaths transformed into tiny, desperate sips. She confessed, “I felt ridiculous. Embarrassed. Ashamed.”

Right then, though, a small hand found hers and clasped it. It belonged to her daughter Gracie.

The young girl began to pray, saying, “Jesus, right now we say no to fear and yes to truth. Because Jesus, you are greater than any fear.”

Grant added that her daughter’s simple act of faith reminded her that belief isn’t a panacea. It’s a deliberate choice, one we make every day.

According to CBN News, fellow vocalist Kari Jobe chimed in with her own words of encouragement after reading the post. “AMAZING,” she wrote. “Thank you or sharing this.”

Thank you, Natalie Grant. May your post encourage all who read it.
