Widow with 4 Children Gifted $10K from Secret Santa for Christmas

Share

All this time we thought Santa lived at the North Pole — turns out, he’s living in Idaho.

This anonymous Santa Claus has been surprising deserving families for years with money, cars or whatever they need to make it through rough times.

Santa doesn’t deliver the gifts directly, rather, he enlists the help of his elves.

And one secret Santa has gifted an Idaho widow and her four children $10,000 dollars just in time for Christmas.

Team members from East Idaho News had the pleasure of meeting Abby Toone and her children as they delivered Santa’s gift.

Toone admitted through tears that her family has been struggling since her husband’s sudden death in September.

Jonathan Toone, 37, was out working on his Idaho property when he was stung by wasps.

Heart racing and out of breath, the U.S. Army Reserve soldier drove feverishly to get help. He called his wife, who called 911.

Have you ever been blessed with a Christmas miracle?

When Jonathan could no longer drive, he stopped at a neighbor’s house. Abby met him there and Jonathan collapsed and died, right in her arms.

The freak accident has left the Toone family without a husband and father.

Abby Toone is now a single mom to four children, all under the age of 10.

As the East Idaho News team descended on the Toone’s home, they handed Toone a small box.

Her curious children surrounded their mother as she opened the gift and saw that it was a check.

Toone burst into tears when she saw the amount — an amount her kids couldn’t fathom.

“Is it a dollar? 100 dollars?” they can be heard asking.

Toone told her kids it was way more than $100 — Santa had given them $10,000 to help see the family through such a devastating time.

“Thank you!” the kids blurted, as Toone wiped away tears.

Toone, who works as a cosmetologist, is known for giving free haircuts or makeup services to clients in need.

Her sacrificial actions are just a part of who she is, a trait that Jonathan Toone valued, too.

The East Idaho News team let the Toone children ride in the helicopter that day, giving them a breathtaking view of the snowy Idaho land.

As for the secret Santa, he’s still at work and accepting nominations for families in need all the way up through Christmas Day.
