Sassy Kitten Shows Up at Sheriff's Station, Deputy Knows She Has To Take Him Home

Share

One glimpse at this purrfectly adorable kitten, and you’ll see why he was so hard for a California deputy to resist. His light-colored, irresistible eyes were set on finding a home, and he seemed to know just where to look.

Nobody is quite sure where the black kitty came from. He just showed up one day, sizing up a police station and planning his next move.

Kitty spent a couple days hanging out around the Eden Township Station in Oakland, California. He eventually made his way inside to show off his administrative skills, which include empty-box sitting and warming himself on the printer.

“We think he was trying to walk on as a K-9 unit and refused to leave until he got into the building for an interview,” Alameda County Sheriff’s Office joked online.

He’s not quite right for the job of a K-9, but the staff sure loved having the coal-colored kitten hanging around the office. He was just cute enough to be adored, yet just sassy enough to maintain a cool, independent demeanor.

Kitty made his way into the sergeant’s office, where he promptly made himself comfortable. The printer seemed like a warm place to lie, so kitty sprawled out and took a little nap.

Kitty likely would have been a solid quality-control applicant, as he made his way around the office inspecting various nooks and crannies.

The ACSO said the kitten may be small in stature, but was just the opposite in personality.

“He’s got a big attitude but is super cute,” the office said on Facebook. And his big-cat attitude caught the eye of a deputy who was absolutely smitten with his cuddly face and sass.

After two days of living at the station, Deputy Scalise simply couldn’t resist that adorable face any longer.

She decided to take the next step and adopt him into her home.

She brought the kitten to the vet for a checkup first, then was able to introduce him to his forever home.

ASCO said kitty still needs a name, prompting suggestions from interested viewers.

“K-2,” suggested one, because, well, police plus Star Wars.

“Copycat,” joked another, playing on kitty’s administrative interests.

We aren’t sure if Deputy Scalise has settled on a name, but as far as kitty is concerned, his mission has been accomplished.
