After 11 years as a co-host of the “Today” show, Kathie Lee Gifford is probably feeling a wide range of emotions as she enters her final week on the show.
Each day is bittersweet for Gifford and the team of people she has worked with over the years, especially her co-host, Hoda Kotb who has been sharing tears alongside Gifford this week.
On Monday, Kotb and Gifford did their last segment of “Favorite Things,” showcasing items that they love and savoring the moment of the beloved segment for the final time.

Gifford then brought her co-anchor to tears when she presented a special gift to Kotb that she likely had been planning for some time.
The gift paid tribute to the special relationship the pair have shared over the years and left viewers wiping away tears as they shared the heartfelt moment.

Gifford brought the gift on stage, which was veiled with a red cloth. Gifford and Kotb removed the covering together to unveil a beautiful piece of artwork that instantly brought Kotb to tears.
The artwork was a lovely portrait by artist Sydney Clawson of Kotb holding her 2-year-old daughter, Haley Joy, in her arms.

Underneath the image was a caption that has resonated in Kotb’s heart since becoming a mom in 2017: “My joy is non-negotiable.”
The pair hugged and wiped away tears before joking that they quickly needed to take a commercial break.
They packed an emotional punch on Monday, just the first day of Gifford’s final week. The two are making the most of every segment they have left together before they move on to new chapters in life.
Gifford plans to move into producing Christian music and film, and Kotb plans to remain on the show and make new memories alongside Gifford’s replacement host, Jenna Bush Hager.
