Dolly Parton Shares Hilarious Photo About Iconic Hit 'Jolene'

Share

Dolly Parton first introduced her hit song, “Jolene,” in 1973, and decades later, the song is reaching popularity with a whole new generation.

Of course, Parton has the uncanny ability to charm the young and old, attracting new fans to her classic tunes because she’s just that savvy.

In 2016, Parton’s infamous “Jolene,” enjoyed new life when Parton teamed up with acapella group “Pentatonix.”

The group’s hauntingly beautiful version of the tune about troubled love reached a whole new audience base, in addition to captivating Parton’s current diehard fans.

Parton capitalized on the release of the Pentatonix collaboration when she teamed up with the ensemble, plus guest artist and goddaughter Miley Cyrus, to perform the song live on television’s “The Voice,” also in 2016.

Again, savvy.

And now, Parton has taken the internet by storm by hopping on the funny meme train.

Chances are, you’ve seen the “distracted boyfriend” image somewhere on the internet:

The meme has been around for over a year, and has gone through its fair share of subtle changes in an effort to give people a good laugh.

And now, Dolly Parton, being Dolly Parton, put yet another fresh, charming, hilarious spin on the popular meme. I’m actually surprised this hadn’t been done before:

Whether or not Parton is the original creator of the Jolene meme is unconfirmed, but she’s definitely the one to make it famous.

Her post has left the internet in stitches, and has likely gained Parton the admiration of younger fans who are happily impressed that Parton knows what a meme is.

In addition to cracking people up on the internet, Parton is busy doing the usual: donating money, cementing her legacy in Hollywood, championing childhood literacy, and working on her new Netflix show.

Honestly, is there anything this woman can’t do?

Parton is kind of like America’s grandma. She’s generous, entertaining, loves children and has the admirable ability to unite diverse groups of people together under her overarching banner of love.

Also, she posts funny stuff. Keep it coming, Dolly Parton, the world could use a good laugh.
