Demi Lovato Rushed to Hospital for Apparent Heroin Overdose, 6 Year Sobriety Broken
American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato was rushed to a hospital on July 24 after an apparent heroin overdose, according to reports from TMZ.
The media outlet confirmed the overdose happened at Lovato’s Hollywood Hills home just days after performing her new single, “Sober.”
Lovato, 25, has been candid about her love affair with drugs. She first tried cocaine at 17, she has said, and was immediately hooked.
“I loved it,” Lovato said in her recently released YouTube documentary “Simply Complicated.”
“I felt out of control with the coke the first time that I did it.”

Lovato has since battled drug addiction, which she revealed has plagued her family.
Lovato’s mother desperately tried to keep her daughter away from drugs after watching firsthand how drugs destroyed her own family.
“My dad was an addict and an alcoholic,” said Lovato.
“I guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him and he chose that over a family.”
